J - Jack of Hearts
card of sacrificial love

Personality Description

Being one of the three Fixed Cards, the J is quite stable in their notions of what love is. At a high level, they embody the spirit of sacrificial Christian love. Despite some immaturity and frivolity characteristic of them as Jacks, they are still guided by the spirit of wisdom and higher motives. However, they need to carefully monitor that the sacrifices they make are not useless. The J is in danger of becoming too deeply immersed in themselves and losing touch with reality, but this is more the exception than the rule.

The power of the Heart Jacks lies in the power of love. They came into our world to love other people and set an example with their love. As soon as the J realizes that this is his mission, he will willingly take on the associated responsibility and excel at it. The Jacks of Hearts often make sacrifices and can forgo personal desires for a higher goal or spiritual philosophy. Being born leaders, they are able to achieve great success in their chosen profession. They are stubborn and guided by a strong sense of duty and justice. They can be relied upon. They keep their promises, unless they get caught in the snares of the base side of their nature and go down the path of the "Knave-rogue".

Everyone the Jack of Hearts communicates with feels the warmth of his soul. The highest self-realization of people with this Birth Card is to move along the path of spirituality or to bring spiritual energies into their life and work.

Relationships of the Jack of Hearts with other people

The spirituality inherent in the J by nature does not mean that people with this Birth Card never exhibit the common traits of all Jacks. There is no guarantee that in the face of the J you will not encounter a frivolous Don Juan. The Jack of Hearts is also subject to strong temptation of easy romantic relationships.

On the other hand, his sacrificial nature always somehow manifests itself in the personal relationships of the J. The Jacks of Hearts are endowed with the ability to have strong feelings from birth, but a certain immaturity can become a serious obstacle for them. Usually they are committed to high ideals in love and have their own ideas about it, which are almost impossible to change. If the J loves you, he will make sacrifices for you, since you may be part of his plans to save the world.

Of course, with such a "savior complex", the J can make a lot of silly mistakes: for example, choose a partner who is completely unworthy of him, or break off a relationship with a loved one to comfort some suffering person. In addition, he may get bogged down in relationships built on strong codependency of the "savior-victim" type, which will have unpleasant consequences.

After experiencing several love failures, the J becomes more sensitive to the suffering that love can cause and turns into an understanding and sincere partner. If he has dedicated himself to a higher purpose, then be assured: before you is a person who can be trusted. This is an example of unwavering and profound love, capable of any sacrifice for the beloved.

Compatibility of the Jacks of Hearts with other birth cards

For the Jack of Hearts-women, a marriage union with Diamond men is not the most successful choice; but they get along wonderfully with men of their own suit. All the J are tied by powerful karmic bonds with the Spade Kings and the Eight of Clubs, but the concentration of energy in relationships of this kind can be too strong. The Jack of Hearts-men can bring a lot of problems to the women of the Club suit.

Is the Jack of Hearts a Savior or a Martyr?

The Jack of Hearts is associated with Jesus Christ - the savior and spiritual leader of the ending Piscean age. He taught people love that far surpassed ordinary human experience by his own example. This sacrificial love is considered the highest form of love. It is symbolized by Venus in Pisces - the sign under the rulership of Neptune. The influence of Neptune can manifest both favorably and destructively, depending on the individual. In our time, on the cusp of the Aquarian age, such sacrificial love begins to be perceived as a kind of harmful habit, as excessive codependency between partners. We are faced with examples of countless people and organizations who have abused their spiritual power in the name of "the good of humanity". Many J may reach complete moral and physical exhaustion, becoming too engrossed in self-sacrifice. Receiving nothing in return, they eventually begin to feel emptied, and as a result they simply lose any opportunity to make sacrifices for other people - that is, to engage in their favorite activity.

Much of what the Piscean age taught us becomes useless and unnecessary in the Aquarian age. From an "Aquarian" point of view, Jesus did no good by sacrificing himself. On the contrary, he lost the opportunity to be with people and help them. From this perspective, his act can be said to be not a miraculous gift to humanity, but an escape from reality. Of course, this view is hardly fair, but it excellently shows how the energies of Neptune and the sign of Pisces can be abused. The Bible asserts that salvation can only be achieved through faith in Jesus Christ. But the philosophy of the Aquarian age advises abandoning blind faith and facing the facts. One must stop trying to save humanity and oneself in particular. No one needs a savior, because everyone is already saved. Every person is unique and unrepeatable, each has enough strength to live as they please.

Perhaps this is why many J seem old-fashioned these days. Many of them still try in vain to save all those around them. Often the Jack of Hearts spends long years of intense conflicts and sorting out relationships with partners to understand the value of a certain degree of selfishness and to establish reasonable boundaries for their love. It is very difficult for the Hearts Jacks to understand when they should really make sacrifices, and when they just need to say "no".

This is not the only card in the deck that is subject to such problems. Each of us is influenced by the planet Neptune to one degree or another, and some more than others. There is a precarious balance between self-sacrifice and the fulfillment of personal desires. We are all learning to clarify the illusory nature of some of our actions and to uncover the truth. In the process, we restore our natural power and find a new way to connect with the divinity within us - a way that better corresponds to the coming Aquarian age, the age of Enlightenment.
